THOUGHTBARN_FOIL INSTALLATION_042609

Sunday, June 21, 2009
In late April we were commissioned by Art Alliance Austin to create entrance beacons for Art City Austin. Below are some videos from the installation process and also some finished images of each of the entrance sites, City Hall entrance / Cesar Chavez entrance.

It was a short project that we were pleased/delighted with the end product.

This project was made possible through support from Art Alliance Austin as part of their Art City Austin project.

THOUGHTBARN_4902 MENDOZA PROPOSAL_UNBUILT

FROM THE THOUGHTBARN ARCHIVES,
A PROPOSAL FOR AN OUTDOOR ROOM AND GARAGE FOR A RESIDENCE IN EAST AUSTIN. / 2007

WE PROPOSED A NEW SCREEN / SLAT PORCH THAT WRAPPED THE EXSITING RESIDENCE THAT WAS COVERED BY A GRASS ROOF.

WE WERE EXPLORING THIS IDEA ABOUT ADDING AN ELEVATED GARDEN, GROW FENCE. THE SLAT STRUCTURE WAS TO BE AN ARMATURE FOR GROWING VINES. OUR CURIOUSITY DROVE US TO EXPLORE HOW ONE GETS A GREAT VIEW TO THE CITY WHILE ALSO BEING ABLE TO TEND YOUR GARDEN.

A FUN, BUT UNFORTUNATELY UNBUILT PROPOSAL.
